Not only was this a fun show, it was a show that I met some people who are still dear friends to this day. I bought a counterfeit ticket and Bill Graham
...
was by the door when I arrived and he saw what was going down and he let me in anyways. We made these beautiful rose wreaths for out heads. The whole day was one I will always remember fondly.

Spartan Stadium was just too close to the runways at SJC airport just a few blocks away. We hated the low flying jet airliners trying to drown out the
...
music Yes we did get some sprinkles during Looks Like Rain.
We went to that show in Watsonville too. A friend of mine was running the show for the now defunct Northern Stage Co. So we got VIP seating right in front of Dan Healy's soundboard.

Mama Tried--> Mexicali was a standard (and quite poor) song selection. Why would it be psychic to call Mexicali after Mama Tried?? It is almost a no

brainer if you've listened to The Dead long enough.

Great show, perhaps a little slow-paced between songs, but what a setlist! Check out the voice at the end of Tennessee Jed. It seems like (unless the
...
guy had the setlist in front of him) that he listens to the tuning and knows the next song will be Mama Tried and if you listen further, he calls the NEXT song Mexicali!? I listened, but can't clue in to what notes he heard. Was this guy psychic?

What a trip, I remember this concert. It was threatening to rain right before Weir broke into Looks Like Rain. I was 18 years old, what a long strange

trip...
